NRGH so lovely. What a WORLD. I couldn't get over the imagery in this one -- the whites of Mikey's eyes in the twilight, Gerard stopping just because Frank wants to see the toxic sunset, his head slamming back against the car as Frank says his own words back at him, but filthier this time. UNF. And this:
There's no noise now but the tick of the engine under his ass and the distant drone of Mikey and Ray's two wheelers as they scream away. No noise but the deafening beating of Gerard's own heart in his ears as Frank's eyes look right through him and his hand falls to the back of Gerard's head.
Man, I could SMELL and FEEL and HEAR every bit of this moment. Gorgeous description. The storyline was clever too, gave us enough of the world to feel oriented but not so much as to drown us with information, and I LOVED Gerard and Frank's little conversation at the end. Like FAMILY. <33333333
