So, I read your notes in your announcement post where you said you really just wanted to write Frank/Frank/Gerard and then it ballooned into THIS. WELL DONE ON THAT, GOAL ACHIEVED YOU NOW OWN THREESOMES.
But what you did in addition to that is write a story that is accessible to people without any knowledge of the Killjoys 'verse. Through X-Men the movie commentary I learned about the method of using a narrative character (Wolverine) who knew as little about the 'verse he was in as the audience did in order to introduce them to it. I don't know if you intentionally used Frank like that considering your Porn!Goal, but he proved to be a great guide into this world. But before he went forward in time, you gave such a strong sense of who MCR are that as someone who doesn't follow them and who is only positive of what Gerard and Frank look like, I left the story with a strong picture of all of them--not only their looks but also their traits.
For me, reading this definitely crossed lines because I generally don't care for end-of-the-world scenarios where everything is uncertain, and having this on my Kindle for so long, I didn't realize that was what I was heading into, so I admit to a little bit of hesitation as it reached that part where Frank was pulled forward and the Dracs came after them, but because it's you and I had already loved the beginning, I kept going. There were some difficult moments, but never so traumatic that I had to think I was soldiering through. :) All in all, this was an amazing, heartbreaking, triumphant, sexy, action-packed adrenaline rush, and if I knew anyone who wasn't in Bandom fandom, which I think has stolen all of my friends, I would recommend it to them.
One final thought--you know you're legend in my mind for your sex scenes, but the way you wrote the onstage scenes in the beginning, especially the parts centered on the music playing, was just as detailed and vivid as the scenes you're infamous for. Those onstage scenes absolutely came alive. It was almost breathtaking to see your talent in action. Maybe performing is like sex, in terms of adrenaline and fun, so maybe that's what you're great at portraying and you could do that amazingly whatever the action is. (Try race car driving! Bet you could make me like it!)

It's no secret I love it when you cross fandoms for me, it means when you like a fic it means SO much more because you are not here for the fandom, you read it DESPITE that, and with no expectations, and it means so much to me, you have no idea. I guess it's a lot like when I end up reading your Kris/Adam stuff, where it doesn't matter that I'm not in the fandom because you write it so well it's like original fic for me - and you can do THAT too, oh talented one, so yeah, wow. Thank you, THANK YOU.
I don't want to sound full of myself, but I was pretty damn proud of those opening scenes, I'm glad they came across so strongly, that they gave you such a sense of who these ridiculous boys are who have stolen so many of our hearts. I'm glad you hung in their even when it started to move into territory you were uncomfortable with, and that it paid off for you. I was pretty intimidated with the story targets I wound up setting for myself, all this action I suddenly had to figure out how to write, not to mention dealing with the end of the fucking WORLD as well. Apparently, I really REALLY wanted to write that threesome! I'm so glad you found it rewarding even when it started to dance into angsty territory. Also, I find it both hilarious and completely understandable that you mistook this for my movie AU - it IS named for a film director after all, so it's an easy mistake to make, but wow, totally not the fic you were expecting to read.
you know you're legend in my mind for your sex scenes - I guess I had an inkling that you liked them, but when you put it that way it kind of makes me want to shriek and flap my hands a little. *shrieks* *flaps hands a little* And, back to the point, THANK YOU. God Am, what an incredible review, I am so, so pleased the fic spoke to you, that you were able to enjoy it from a very non-bandomy perspective and wow, race car driving? You think?
Seriously Am, you're amazing, you're an incredible writer, one whose work I adore and because of that, every word of this means so much more. *hugs forever*
