A few more Top 5 Answers!

So I was going to post some more top 5 answers yesterday, but

b_dsaint and I ended up writing cracktacular Clueless recast as Bandom chatfic instead. Because we are complete dorks and highly distractable like that. WHOOPS.

Anyway, without further ado, some Top Fives!

turloughishere wanted five places you would like to visit some time?

Oh see, now this is HARD. I am all about travelling, but I'm actually not hugely fussed on where I go, I just like going places. But let's see, if I think very VERY hard:

1. The Bandom road trip

pikasafire keeps banging on about, across the states ~~stalking~~ visiting fangirls everywhere with a pitstop in Mexico. In a van. I can't think of a better trip.
2. New Zealand, because I know too many people there not to go and check out what all the fuss is about. And also, it's so close to Oz there are no excuses.
3. Japan! Because I think it would be fascinating.
4. Canada! Because it would also be fascinating and everyone knows Canadians are awesome.
5. While I am in the UK I want to do a bunch of little jaunts around Europe. I've already done France and Sweden, but I'd like to do more, Italy, Greece, etc!

Well that was more than five! Really though, I just love travelling, I'm happy to go anywhere.

This one was HARD, because I guess I don't pay a huge amount of attention to that kind of thing, but I scratched my head and came up with the following. Note, it was really tempting to grab looks from films (like actors in costume) but I figured that would be cheating so I stuck to actual fashion choices from the celebrities (and probably their stylists).

1. Dita Von Teese
Because everyone loves a bit of 50's glamour and there has to be corsetry in here SOMEWHERE:

2. Gwen Stefani - the crazy Mad Hatter-esque outfit from 'What You Waiting For'. I couldn't find any shots of the cute shorts though sadly, but yay top hats!

3. Angelina in her goth phase. Because that shit is hot (and also because it kind of shits me that they keep picking on her wearing this dress to the Oscars. I don't think it's that bad FFS.)

4. Also? Lyn-Z's school girl thing, because ties, vests, tiny skirts and boots are HOT.

See? HOT.

5. I feel like I HAVE to include this one, because I actually did steal Kimberly Wyatt's hair for about a year. I google-stalked her for her haircut and made my hairdresser try to copy it.

Not bad, right? Obviously it looks GREAT on her. Not quite as successful on me....

I'd just like to preface this by stating YES, I am ACTUALLY TWELVE, or at least I appear to have the palate of a twelve year old. I've gone for treat foods, so it's basically ALL sugar and fat...

1. Devonshire Tea

Scones with jam (jelly to you crazy foreigners) and whipped or clotted cream and a nice hot cup of tea! So very British, but when done well (with freshly baked scones, good quality jam and LOTS of cream - on TOP, cream on TOP - can you believe some people put the cream on the BOTTOM? PHILISTINES.) it's SO delicious.

2. Tim Tams

I had to include these, since they are the BEST biscuits (cookies to you foreigners) in the WORLD. Sometimes people compare them to Penguins but they are so much better. The best trick is to bite off the ends, suck hot coffee or tea up into the middle then let it explode in your mouth. SO. GOOD.

3. Ice Cream

Image was ENTIRELY unnecessary, but I've started a pattern now, so I need to stick to it. I am quite partial to Ben and Jerry's Cookie Dough and Baskin Robbins Peanut Butter & Chocolate or even just some plain vanilla with a bit of Ice Magic. Mmmm. Ice Magic. Wow. I actually AM twelve.

4. Pancakes

And I mean PROPER pancakes! Big fluffy buttermilk ones with melty butter and buckets of maple syrup. If I want crepes I'll ask for them dammit, so many places in Australia get it WRONG. Except The Pancake Manor in the old church in Brisbane always got it right, and it was open 24 hours to boot. Mmm. Pancakes.

5. Iced Frappe or Frappucino or Iced Coffee

Many names for the same thing, that is, coffee blended with ice and milk and sugar (sometimes ice cream also - yay) and topped with whipped cream. All your sugar and caffeine needs in one handy drink! I am kind of addicted to the ones they make at Starbucks because the ones they make at Nero aren't creamy enough.

So yeah, how about that? I have the palate of a twelve year old. No one is surprised.

I still have a few more top 5's left, so expect another post at some point.

In the meantime, why not sign up to write some happy Pete/Mikey fic? Because there really will never be enough in the world.

A bandom roadtrip would be fabulous. Japan is fascinating. I've just spent less than a week there but I would love to go back some day. You've been to Sweden?! That's so cool! Almost no one except the Finnish girl on my flist have. Where were you and what did you think?

I went and stayed with a girlfriend of mine and her family, she's Swedish but lives in Oz now but she goes back to Sweden to visit her family a lot. They live in Helsingborg so I went via Copenhagen and Malmo and gosh the country is just BEAUTIFUL. We did lots of riding around on bikes, drank a lot and also visited Nimis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ladonia_%28micronation%29#Nimis) which was amazing. All in all I have such an appreciation for the place, the people, the beauty. I honestly think I could live there.

This sounds odd, and yet ENTIRELY DELICIOUS.

Tim Tams are one of those things that I don't eat that much but I would miss so badly if I went overseas and couldn't get them. And all the Arnott's biscuits really. Mint Slices and Caramel Crowns, and Mandarin Slice is pretty wicked too.

And really, Brendon, what ARE you doing?

Mmmm, you're right about Tim Tams, I didn't eat them all that often back in Oz, but now that I CAN'T have them I really really miss them. Also MINT SLICE FTW. Arnott's are awesome (even if they did sell out to the US).

Off topic, but let me tell you about the dream I had last night:

I was in L.A., visiting Luis and Nora (they moved there 2 years ago) with Omar. I was in my hotel room, alone, and then someone knocked, I opened, AND IT WAS YOU! With your boyfriend (that, in my dream, was from Chile and looked an awful lot like the Puerto Rican singer Chayanne) and your mom. We stayed in my room for a couple of hours, during which we just couldn't stop touching each other/cuddling/kissing each other's cheeks.

Then, we left because you had organize a party in some bar, and Miz and Elizabeth were there! I hugged the shit out of Miz for the longest time ever, and tried to hug Elizabeth but she was too drunk and someone took her to the bathroom to puke.

Right after that, your boyfriend (whose name was Mario in my dream) came up to me and we started to talk, and he was so happy that he was finally able to talk in Spanish. At first it was just small talk, and then we proceeded to talk about the differences between latin culture and american culture; and then he got very serious and he told me that it seemed like I was already influenced by american culture.

I asked why, and he said that a nice, latin girl usually isn't THAT touchy-feely with another girl (he was talking about how we had behaved earlier) and that I was a married woman so I shouldn't give up the wrong impression. I asked him what did he mean, and he said, "well, the impression that you're into girls, and the impression that you enjoy to flirt with other men, because they may think that they can do this..." and then leaned forward as if he was going to kiss me, but never actually tried. Apparently he just wanted to illustrate his point? I told him that a) I wasn't flirting with anyone, and b) If someone would try to kiss me, they'd get a slap across the face.

He laughed, and said "good girl" and caressed my cheek. Then you came up to us and started to push me and to yell that I've always been envious of you, and that you should've known that I'd try to steal your man because I was desperate to prove that I still got it even when I was old and pathetic. Then you told me to get the fuck out of there, and you didn't even let me say good-bye to Miz and Elizabeth.

I took a taxi back to my hotel, and the taxi driver was Cillian Murphy, and I was crying and he told me if I wanted a Kleenex, and then my alarm went off before I could answer him.

The long response: All of the hugging and snuggling in this dream makes me INFINITELY HAPPY. I want to go to LA with you and Miz and Elizabeth and nuzzle you for hours. But I don't want poor Elizabeth being drunk and holy shit what kind of bad taste to I have in men in your subconscious? BAD MARIO! WTF arrogant mysogynistic Chilean fucker. And also EL OH EL that your subconscious paired me off with some dude named Mario! And BAD EVIL DREAM!ME for making you cry. I'm sure you know I WOULD NEVER EVER DO THAT and I hate dream!me for being such a bitch. I'm sure Cillian was on the verge of taking good care of you and giving you snuggles.
