You know, I thought this was some kind of joke, because it all seems too weird. But there it is...in lilac and...um more lilac.

I SO wish I was gonna be there for that planning meeting:

"So Frank, you know how last year we got dressed up and went to Disneyland for your birthday - I was a bird, my kid was a hot dog? Yeah, this year I was thinking we go to London and play two songs before a football match. Waddayasay?"

Unless Frank's not gonna be there...? Ooooh, bummer, that just occured to me. It's not like they don't have a habit of doing that...

I bought a box set too, within seconds of seeing it. I didn't even have time to process. I'd already hit 'confirm payment' before I even registered it's $125 Kiwigian bucks.

I like This Might Get Messy, Kids, too. Maybe it can just mean both.

PS how come no one is squeeing over the fact that there's a whole EP of tracks by a second made up band coming with the box set?!?!

I get so much free entertainment out of this fandom I rly should buy the box set. hee. But I am holding off in the event that I have to hire a hit man or something to get get my hands on LA tix.

Ray is all nodding dorkily about the football international game idea, and so that's when Frank looks at Mikey, clearly the only other reasonable person in the band and Mikey just shrugs and looks disinterested (i.e. normal) as if to say, "look, dude, I do what my brother says. It's gotten me turned into a rock start and married way out of my league. I no longer balk when he tells me to where a bullet proof vest or fire a paint gun at some dude in the desert or go play at some sort of ritualistic sporting event." Seeing no ally with Mikey, Frank furrows his brow trying to make sense of it himself. Finally he voices his biggest source of confusion:

"Is THAT what Bandit was supposed to be last year? A hotdog? Huh."

AND I KNOW. THE EP. A MADE UP BAND. OUR BAND MADE UP AN EPIC FREEDOM FIGHTER AU FOR US, WITH A SLASHY TRAILER THAT HAD THE LOOK, AND THEN CREATED A FAKE BAND FROM THAT AU 'VERSE. AND THEN RECORDED MUSIC AS THAT BAND. ASDJKHFKASHFLKAJSDFHKL;AHSF

MY BRAIN CAN NOT WRAP AROUND THEIR GIVING NATURE. GIVERS, EVERY ONE OF THEM. IF THEY NEED TO DO SOME MAINSTREAM FOOTBALL GAME IN ENGLAND THAT IS FINE BY ME. THEY MADE UP A ZONERUNNING BAND FOR US!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT EITHER HAS DUSTVERSE MUSIC ON THE EP OR THE CUT SONGS FROM LAST YEAR. I WILL NEVER STOP BEING GRATEFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes. YES. FAKE BANDS. MISSILE KID. Dude I cannot WAIT to see what shenanigans they are going to get up to. It just keeps getting more and more ridiculous and wonderful and awesome.

Now I wanna talk about the planning meeting for the EP, which took place on Mikey and Alicia's couch. Frank is playing with the dog and Ray is reorganizing Alicia's spice rack in the kitchen after not being able to find appropriate curry spices.

Gerard and Alicia are smoking outside when Mikey changes the channel to MTV and asks Frank, "What do they listen to, in the zones?"

Frank grabs the ball and tosses it down the hall. "You mean, the killjoys?"

"Don't do that in the house, bro. She'll never leave us alone. Yeah. I mean, I get we're all fighting the evil or whatever, on the run and driving around in fast cars. Wait. I get a motorbike, right?" He raises his voice, "I GET A MOTORBIKE, RIGHT GEE?" Gerard yells something affirmative from the patio. Mikey resettles on the couch, satisfied. "I want a cool helmet." Frank nods and makes a gesture with his hands as if to say, 'of course.' "But what music does the Doctor play? Are there, like, renegade bands out there?"

Frank reaches for the remote and mutes the TV. "Maybe there are some zonerunners playing in clubs? In underground, um, rave-like..."

Gerard pops his head through the window, eyes alight and cigarette dangling from his mouth. "Oh my GOD you guys. We can give them a band. WE," he gestures to the room, "can give them a band. You GUYS."
