"Hey Rollerbaby, whatcha doin'?" Gerard leaned in the doorway of the dead Pegasus as he watched Grace struggle with a pair of heavy looking combat boots.

"Frank stole me a hoverboard. It's really just a skateboard with magnets and wheels, but it skims pretty fast." Grace didn't look up until she had threaded the boots herself and stood on woobly legs.

He pressed his fingers over his mouth to cover his smile. It wasn't the same as watching a kid ride her first bike, but it was just as good.
