You Can Do It! A Mix To Up Your Word Count

So at 10:30pm on November 1 I decided I was going to try to do NaNoWriMo this year. Because I make all my important decisions at the LAST FUCKING MINUTE. I am completely unprepared (character outlines? plot points? WHAT?) and I am writing a story based around a musical playlist (not this one. Ha.)

Obviously when one is scrambling to get one's word-count up, one needs a mix, full of motivational "I am a literary WARRIOR" type of music. And also some power ballads so you can pretend you are in an 80's movie montage WRITING YOUR HEART OUT. Possibly in SLOW MOTION. Or no, rather, FAST MOTION. Yes, that would be better.

this mix looks super shiny. If I could write to something like this I prolly would, but I have this issue where I have to find music that imitates the themes/atmosphere of what I'm involved in at that moment.

I'm doing an unofficial Nano thing because this time of year means work is a giant ball of stress and so far I've maybe mangaged 2.5k? since the first.

\o/ DUDE that mix is awesome. I will totally DL it once I'm home. I have a writing mix of music that I use that's full of songs I know so well they sort of turn into white noise which somehow magically quiets my brain enough so that I can write, but this is like a psych up mix for WRITING. Awesome.

My nano is trucking along! I wrote out my scene-by-scene outline yesterday which has already helped a TON, because it's way easier for me to focus on just writing a SCENE than it is to look at word count and how many more I need to write today to be on target. YAY FOR MANIPULATING OUR BRAINS.

Hee, this should be fun! I love that you have Words in there, A++ choice even though I never thought about it like that.

Nano is going well wordcount wise, but I've already hit the week 2 stage where I hate my novel and want to forget about it. As far as quality goes I think it's one of my worst efforts ever. I did short stories last year and that was way easier and now everything is HARD. Like I had a great concept but I feel like I'm ruining my own brilliant idea by writing it so badly.

And I keep accidentally switching between first person and third person, but at least that's *reasonably* easy to fix in the edits.
