V-Day and no_tags and cuteness, oh my!

Hey hey hey so it's V-day and apparently I should care. I kind of don't, really, though I would happily make out with everyone on my flist right now. Actually that isn't just a VDay thing, that is true of me EVERY day!

So, no_tags was fun, wasn't it? I wrote that one that I have since heard referred to as "THE CREEPY STALKER THRU THE WINDOW ONE" and apparently it was obvious FROM SPACE that it was me. This kind of surprised me a little! Because usually I write like a long PWP where it's mostly sex, and this one had PLOT and as I said to greedy_dancer NO ONE EXPECTS PLOT FROM ME, DO THEY? But apparently I smeared my id all over the page and my id looks a lot like Gerard being a creepy stalker with some fake boyfriends thrown in for good measure. Nice one, id.

(Fine, okay, I'll admit the voyeuristic side of things was probably a dead giveaway but WHATEVS.)

It's funny, I love no_tags, it's always so much fun, but it's also really STRESSFUL, because prompt claiming is crazy and you have to pick something FAST before you run out of options and wind up having to write a pairing you don't know!

This year after madly refreshing the comm until the prompts appeared, I saw the VERY FIRST PROMPT - "Gerard/Frank - amnesia!" and immediately remembered this germ of an idea I'd had since the yobrothatssick challenge passed me by, that I'd always wanted to write an amnesia fic kind of like While You Were Sleeping, but creepier. Of course, as soon as I had that thought I could barely pay attention to any of the other prompts because my brain was going "WHY ARE YOU STILL SCROLLING, YOU HAVE AN IDEA, CLAIM THAT ONE."

So I DID and it wasn't until AFTER it was mine that I went: oh right, this could be a VERY LONG STORY and I only have ONE WEEK to write it. *FACEPALM* But I wasn't ready to give up! So I knuckled down and WROTE. Well I mean, I wrote in fits and starts between complaining very LOUDLY on twitter about how hard it was and whinging about what an idiot I am. Somehow I managed to distill the story down to it's very bare bones (at one point it looked like there wasn't even going to be porn, like the story wouldn't need it, but then I started writing that part and WOAHVOYEURISMHANDJOBS kind of took over. What relief, eh?) and somehow, nearly 10k later, there was a story! And it wasn't that awful, even though it was apparently really, really mottsy.

Now, obviously I had NO IDEA at the time, but it turns out that this is now TWO YEARS IN A ROW that I chose brooklinegirl's prompt for no_tags. I can't believe this has happened TWICE NOW. I love this challenge SO HARD.

Also, I got a story! eldee_fic got my prompt Frank/Gerard - this wasn't part of the plan and wrote You Live Life - a really gorgeous wingfic with some lovely imagery and it's her VERY FIRST bandom fic and it's LOVELY. You should read it!

So yeah, Sunday afternoon was FANGIRL MEETUPS!

kopperblaze was going to be in town, so we used it as an excuse to get together and we ended up with a rather big turn-out! xclusiveantonym, jenepel, bebunny violet_doll, knight_tracer, sunsetmog, pennyplainknits and never_coming_bk all made it out for various time periods and we made a nuisance of ourselves talking rather too loudly about jerking off and porn in a couple of different bars and a Wagamama.

Of course, this get together co-incided with the no_tags reveals post going up so I was trying VERY HARD not to be rude, but occasionally sneaking looks at my iPhone and interjecting into the conversation to shriek "OH SO-AND-SO WROTE THAT ONE!" or "YOU GUYS I WROTE T'S PROMPT AGAIN THIS YEAR" or "OH MAN THAT ONE WAS SO-AND-SO'S I WAS SO FUCKING RIGHT!" I don't know if it was annoying or endearing... hopefully more the latter than the former. Either way, it was awesome to have fangirl hangs, as always and we need to make kopperblaze come and visit more often!

Last little no_tags thing, they are doing a bonus round, and if anyone were to write my spare prompt 32. Ray/Mikey - Ray gets way more action than anyone realizes. Mikey figures this out - I will give you my FIRST BORN. Or a cookie. Your choice! Hey, it doesn't hurt to ask, right?

we do! that would seriously be cool. well, vienna is still an option, i guess if you guys wanna come? we do have a caravan in croatia we could go to, but i have no idea how we'd get there without a car. damn lol plus charlotte would most likely burn in the sun anyway XD
