I was extremely excited when I saw who picked my fic to mix for - I knew melusina would "get" the story and this mix is seriously SO GREAT. It really does describe the story so beautifully - every track makes me think of a moment in the fic - and some do it SO well I was SQUEALING.

I mean - it starts with BOWIE. OF COURSE. OF COURSE IT DOES. And I actually shrieked when I saw Lupe's Superstar on the mix - it's just so FITTING. I hadn't even heard the song Oops by Tweet before, but it really captures the frisky, cheeky mood of Pete in the video. And COBRA. YES. OF COURSE THERE NEEDS TO BE COBRA ON THIS MIX.

The Wallflowers sleepwalker spoke VOLUMES: Maybe I could be the one they adore / That could be my reputation / It's where I'm from that lets them think I'm a whore / I'm an educated virgin THIS IS SO PATRICK. DAMN.

I nearly wept with how appropriate Let's Pretend We're Married and End Of Pretend are. And dear god Wynter Gordon's Don't Stop Me is absofuckinglutely the scene on the doorstep - Once you start me, don't stop me / Don't stop me, don't stop me, don't stop me *BITES FISTS WITH GLEE*

Gone Daddy Gone and I Miss You MY FUCKING HEART. I Miss You already KILLS me, and now I'll forever associate it with Patrick missing Pete. And damn but the run of the last three love songs is PERFECT. Especially ending on Marvin Gaye. MARVIN GAYE PEOPLE!

I love this mix. It still makes me smile and EMOTE every time I listen to it. Which is a lot. I LOVE IT A WHOLE LOT. Please, if you do too - let melusina know!
