Fannish Love Pile: The Post Mortem

So - amazingly - yesterday's chat actually ran the full 12 hours, and though it got quiet at times there were always people around. Much fic was discussed, videos were squee'd at, friends were made! Over the course of the day 20 people dropped by to chat, some for longer than others. For those of you who made friends and want to connect on LJ, here's a list of attendees - go be friendly!

Of course, once we got talking fic the recs started pouring out and we collectively decided what the world really needs is a book club for bandom fic! So we can rec stuff and discuss it. Sounds like fun right? Well then,

bandombookclub was born! Get your ass over there and join! Once a week we'll take turns reccing a favourite fic, so if you have tabs and tabs of awesome you just MUST share with the world we want YOU. Or if you feel like you've read EVERYTHING in bandom and just want to get at those gems you haven't found yet - we ALSO want you. Get on over and join up.

Thanks to all who came, saw and squee'd. You're a pretty awesome bunch and it was a spectacular way to spend a lazy Sunday. Lots of folk said we should do it again, and I agree, but maybe not quite such a marathon next time!

well, i do have most of the day archived, i think except for about 20 minutes where my computer got confused at me. Unfortunately its on my REAL lap top... the one I broke. *sigh*

Fingers crossed the really smart people at the computer store can fix it? Or at least salvage my HD.

I hope they can save it - for the fic! Chat schmat, I want the fic dammnit.

Indeed! Not so much as a playlist in the end since people were coming and going so much, but it was a very useful resource for throwing up cool vids. Thanks so much for taking the time to make it, pity you couldn't make the chat :(

Oh, goodie! I meant it as more of a "here are some good gay/slashy/hot videos to get you started, work from there!" kinda thing. Wish I could have made it, was busy and don't have AIM. :(

Mmm good question - just the bands under the bandom umbrella I would imagine. I can't see us getting too finicky over it. Probably much along the guidelines for most Bandom comms, you know the usual, MCR, FOB, the FBR crews, MSI etc.

I think sometimes I got quiet...sorries. I just don't know a lot about the bands and such. Plus MCR is awesome but not my main playground...which gave me an unsteady footing.

Was still awesome though. I don't think I would have even thought to try the porn battle out for realz until I mentioned in on there.

well..true...the problem stems from the fact that I don't drink caffeine.(so it gets interesting sometimes when I get tired)

I don't know who I talked to! When I suggested you to make this post, I didn't consider the fact that:
a) LJ username and AIM username is usually not the same.
b) I wasn't going to be there the whole time, so I can't just add everybody on the list because some of them have no idea who I am.

I do remember Katy, who kept showing up whenever group sex was mentioned!

It's true that the AIM and LJ usernames are different - I kept note of who was who, but I didn't want to plaster people's AIM names up on a public post in case they don't want that. Hit me up privately if there is anyone you're not sure of.
