It's my Bandomversary! And I totally got PRESENTS...

Well, it was technically my Bandomversary yesterday, but I was too busy to post about it. But hey - I have been obsessing about MCR for an ENTIRE year now and what a year it's been! I have read a lot of awesome fic, I have written more words of prose than any other year of my entire life. I wrote TWO big bangs and actually finished them and everything (this totally would not have happened if not for

dancinbutterfly and

b_dsaint. ALL THE HEARTS to you.). I've met so many awesome people and amazing writers through this fandom, it's been such an incredible year.

Total word count since October 1 2009: 205 307 words (This is actual posted fic only, doesn't include all the WIPs I have lying around, which would add at least another 50k.)

HOLY CRAP. Who'd have thought a bunch of tiny, adorable rockstars would be so damn inspiring? And I'm fairly certain a large portion of that number is porn. Well, pretty damn certain.

Apparently the universe is set on being awesome today, because I got PRESENTS.

podklb just posted her podfic of This Might Get Messy, Kids. She gave me a preview of it a while back and I love it TO DEATH. It's such a great reading of the story, she really harnessed the attitude and energy I was going for, and her dialogue delivery is fantastic. Check it out, and don't forget to leave feedback!

I'm so spoiled, you guys. I love all the details, how layered the images are - the longer you look at them the more you see. You start with the Trans Am and the road and Frank and Gee's loving stare, and then the spider comes through, and the Party Poison symbol from Gerard's jacket, and the chart from NewsaGoGo and the colours from the boom box. And THEN, just when you think you've got it figured out - you manage to focus on the awesome sexy silhouette. Yes, I've been staring. Ssssh. You totally are too!

I hope you like it, it's been a lot of work, but the fic is so detailed, so full of imagery and so fantastic, that I wanted the art to reflect that complexity. I'm not sure if I managed to show alll the stuff that's going in Gee's head, all the different aspects he has to control, like the lights, the sound, the actors, the little production details, and on top of that, having to deal with his attraction for Brian, that messes everything and appears in the middle of his notes, and his sketches, complicating his life and messing with his concentration. The art had two another two parts besides the panel that shows us Gee's working table and the movie poster. They were a storyboard and a screenplay , but I took them off because they really didn't add any information and they were sort of distracting.

I'm not sure this art can reflect how beautiful your story is, but I can honestly say that I tried my best with it. I hope you like it.

It's BEAUTIFUL. HOLY CRAP. I just. I can't. It's like. I don't have words. Just. SO AMAZING. The details. THE DETAILS. Gee in his waistcoat and stuntman Brian and the sketches in the sketchbook, the SIGNED character portrait!!! (!!!!) The photos, which look so genuine, the books and pens and mess and everything. And and and THE MOTHERHUMPING MOVIE POSTER. (!!!) Eeeee.

Ugh. I'm just. Not coherent right now. It's so SO gorgeous and classy and beautiful and the amount of work and time it must have taken. Oh goodness. I'm beside myself. It's AMAZING. THANK YOU. HOLY HELL. I can't stop STARING at it and zooming in on things and sighing and gleeing and smiling and oh WOW. Thank you so so so much.

This is GORGEOUS!! The composition is so clean and stark, and then you zoom in on the work table panel and suddenly there are all these details and nuances and colours. Layer upon layer of them. Cards and pictures and photos and pens and things you can only half see. Exactly like the desk of someone busy being creative. Lovely, lovely, lovely!
