If you're looking at this post going "Hey Fox! I know not of this Umbrella Academy of which you speak, therefore I am of no use to you" YOU ARE WRONG!

Even if you don't feel like checking under the cut for character descriptions, perhaps you could just suggest to me your favourite underrated actors & actresses of the moment. You know the ones, they are awesome and they've done a few things but they just haven't had that breakthrough film that gets them A-listed yet. Tell me of your Cillian Murphys, your David Wenhams, your Radha Mitchells and so on.

Okay, I blame gracie321  because she is like the siren who lures the sailor (ie. ME) to their death with promises of pretty, pretty fic. Even though I am already freaking out about how much stuff is on my to-do list, well, come on - they are only drabbles, right? I'll be fine.

So in seven and a half hours I'll be on a plane to the UK. I will actually be in the sky at midnight, well more than one midnight with the change of timezones. I'm just stupidly positive about this relocation and looking forward to some adventure.

I don't make new years resolutions, but if I did this year's will be to travel, to write and to learn to play a musical instrument. I'll definitely be working toward those goals this year, not because of a resolution  - but because I WANT to.

I know I haven't posted any fresh fic in a while, so here is a little sort-of meme. 5 grabs from 5 unpublished fics/fics-in-progress that will be finished in the new year.

OH GOD. CHAMPAGNE HANGOVER.

Ow. Ow. Owwie.

So I have been a little lost since my re-emergence from The Seven Year Cave. I have been slutting my way around slash fandoms not entirely focused any one pairing, just reading whatever takes my fancy (and continuing to be hella impressed by the number of very fine writers doing fanfic. I mean, wow. Why aren't these people writing professionally?)

So in my fandom promiscuity I stumble into bandom because it looks like it might be comfy. I think I will always be obsessed with musician slash in one way or another. But I immediately feel lost because half the bands I haven't heard of and the other half I know by name but not by tune. I finally see something familiar in the form of My Chemical Romance, because I hey wow, here is a band I listen to and actually own CDs of, so I start reading the fic... and then I see some of the videos....

( I was going to cut this for FANNISH SQUEE but dammit I am not going to because I AM NOT ASHAMED! I SQUEE PROUDLY. )

and OMG heaven with

• unlimited amounts of High School AU (yum my favourite, Wagger & The Fairy anyone?)
• which of course was inspired by the music video where they are students at a preppy school complete with uniforms and TIES & bonus boykiss on camera
• not to mention HELLO boys in makeup! and tatts! and crazy hair!
• and of course frontman Gerard is a total poser who keeps changing the length/colour of his hair and pouring his heart out everywhere (sound familiar?)

and then madame_d sent me over to crack_van for which I will be eternally grateful because I found the MCR overview which led to the Gerard/Frank Ship Manifesto which is basically four pages of SQUEEEERIFFIC boytouching, hand holding, hugging, cuddling, stroking, posing, lap sitting, beaming, groping, licking and MAKING OUT ON STAGE CONSTANTLY. And there is photo and video of EVERYTHING.

It's like some kind of slash goldmine.

So now I have MCR basically on rotation on my ipod, half a fic written and giant heart shapes in my pupils because crikey I've never seen two boys so in luurve. I haven't gone this rabid fangirl since Affirmation came out.

But my fucking word it is good to be fannishly excited/obsessively fixated on something again! Wahey!

Well look at that. It has been a while.

So I've very nearly polished off the last of Charlaine Harris' Southern Vampire novels and I am struck with the most insatiable urge to devour some good solid m/m slash. So off I go a-hunting and discover that almost all of my old slash depositories are now giving me a a "404" or the echoing emptiness of a long deserted ghost town.

Then I check my sadly abandoned fic email addy and discover that Geocities is about to close down and take my site Crash and Burn and all it's not-very-well backed up contents with it. Well this all adds up to one very unhappy LadyFox.

Lucky for me I was able to ferret around on my hard drive and find an old saved version of KrisKat's Better Off Saying Nothing to tide me over. Nothing like some good Darren/Jay Darren/Amir action to get me all bothered and distracted.

Luckier still amproof was kind enough to let me know that the new home for fanfic happens to be here, in LiveJournal. So here I am, ready to find it. And it sounds like I'm not the only ex-SG slasher in these parts (though I wont name names in case anyone has moved on), so I hope if I've friended you that you take time to scratch your head and remember back to oh, about 2002.....
